Dr. Richard J. Olin

For more than thirty years, I've had the privilege of being a dentist, including serving as the School System Dentist for Rahway, New Jersey for a decade. Along the way, I discovered that children learn best when education feels like play and imagination. That's why I created the Tooth Fairy Factory—a place where dental education comes to life through a cast of original cartoon characters.

At the center of it all is Buddy the Tooth, an inquisitive, big-hearted molar who first appeared in my debut book, The Story of Buddy. Through Buddy's adventures, I hope to inspire children to feel proud of their smiles and to build healthy, happy relationships with their teeth.

The whimsical illustrations in my book were brought to life with the help of Stephanie Wexler, a gifted young artist who was also one of my patients at the time. Stephanie was a college student then, and her creativity added so much heart to Buddy's world.

Since those early days, The Story of Buddy has grown beyond the page—it's now been adapted into an animated children's film, which you can enjoy through the Tooth Fairy Factory, part of our Olin Media family.
